After many years of development, the new digital talking book players have been mailed to patrons of the National Library Service talking book program.
This allows the libraries to lend books on digital cartridge instead of using casettes. If you wish, you can sign up for the Library's BARD (Braille and Audio Reading Download) web site on the internet and download digital talking books for yourself.
You can choose a book to read and have it in your hand in minutes. You can erase it from your cartridge after reading, or save it and build a personal library.
To download and play books, you can use a flash drive to hold the book and plug it in to the USB jack on the side of the player, or you can buy blank cartridges, put your books on them, and slide them in to the front of your player for reading. This is where we come in.

LEARN MORE ABOUT THIS NEW TECHNOLOGY
The library lends books on cartridges, but doesn't provide blank cartridges to patrons who want to download books for themselves. The library relies on private sellers to provide these cartridges for users to buy. We are one of these sellers. The cartridge we sell has a capacity of two gigabytes, and can hold several books.
The cable is used to connect the cartridge to your computer. You can place books you have downloaded on the cartridge for reading, and erase books you have read and no longer want on the cartridge. This cable is a standard USB extention cable, but the jack on the cord is thin enough to fit the recessed USB plug on the back of the cartridge. Not all cable designs will work with this cartridge, so be careful when buying them locally.
Our cable is 36 inches long, which I find long enough to plug in to the back of my computer and reach the
front of my desk for easy use with the cartridge.
I find that the cable is also useful for connecting thumb drives and mp3 players to the computer.
These mailers are made of plastic and are used to store or mail your cartridge. The are identical to those used by the libraries to mail books to patrons, except the are gray, and lack the embossed government seal on the front.
Shipping and handling rates for small cable and cartridge orders are less than our normal rates, so be careful when calculating.
For shipping and handling within the U.S., please add $3.00 for under 10 cartridges. For 10 or more please use our regular rate of %5 of your order with a $7.00 minimum. For shipping outside the U.S. please call us.
MICHIGAN RESIDENTS please ADD 6% SALES TAX.
We take orders by phone or mail only, and accept VISA, Master Card and checks. We do accept purchase orders faxed from organizations. Our contact information is shown below.
